NSW: Man and son charged over plot to murder rape victim

SYDNEY, Dec 30 AAP - A man and his son were today charged over an alleged plan to murder
a 16-year-old rape victim, according to NSW Police.

Police took a 48-year-old man into custody this morning from his Merrylands home in
Sydney's south-west, according to ABC radio.

Also being questioned was his 19-year-old son, already remanded in custody at the Silverwater
Correctional Centre on charges of aggravated sexual assault.

The rape is alleged to have occurred on March 30 this year near the grounds of the
North Bondi RSL club in Sydney's east.

The pair have been charged with one count each of solicit to murder, a police spokeswoman said.

They are due to face Parramatta Local Court later today.
