Vic: Grocon workers to hold stopwork meetings this morning
MELBOURNE, Jan 17 AAP - Victoria's powerful construction union will hold a stop-workmeeting at 7am (AEDT) today to discuss the next stage of enterprise negotiations withbuilding giant Grocon.
The meeting, at the $600-million Queen Victoria project site in Melbourne's CBD, isintended to gauge the mood of the 600-strong workforce.
Enterprise negotiations between the union and Grocon have not progressed since a secretballot on a non-union agreement was overwhelmingly rejected by Grocon workers before theconstruction industry's statewide Christmas shutdown.
